Firma E Ink was founded in 1997 as a spin-off from MIT(Massachusetts Institute of Technology)Media Lab. Since then E Ink has received many industry awards and registered over 150 patents, becoming a global leader in the design and manufacture of e-paper displays (EPD).

Products created with revolutionary electronic ink are readable in the sun, do not need backlight or electricity to hold the image, have high contrast, low power consumption and are thin and light. EPD solutions are applied in the market of industrial and consumer applications to create products such as e-books, e-prices, e-watches, information devices, banners. All these solutions are designed in the cooperation with the world-biggest brands, such as Amazon.com (famous Kindle readers), Casio, Samsung, Sony, Motorola, Hitachi, Barnes&Noble.

Currently offered EPD technology:

  • Carta (monochromatic) – contrast improved by 50% in comparison to the previous generation e-paper displays (Pearl); contrast is very similar to printouts; 16 shades of gray, improved screen refreshing and higher resolution (even over 300 dpi) which allows you to display smooth graphics, numerous details and exceptionally sharp fonts.
  • Spectra – first three-color EPD display on the market offered in mass production; currently available in black and white, other colors will be available in the future.
  • Mobius –a flexible display manufactured with use of TFT technology that enables to keep little weight and suits better when producing large format e-paper displays.
  • Aurora – e-paper display with extended range of operation in low temperatures, perfect to apply in freezers or supermarkets.
  • Triton – the only commercially available color e-paper display, featuring 16 shades of gray and 4096 colors.
  • Pearl (monochromatic) – has an improved contrast ratio (in comparison to the competition), 16 shades of gray, quicker response time and higher resolution (up to 300 dpi).
  • Segmented – sunlight-readable, low-power, thin, endurable displays that can be produced in a variety of shapes; they may be successfully applied in electronics, dashboards and measuring instruments.
