Visionect logo

Visionect was founded in 2007 by three young researchers – economist Matej Zalar, electrical engineer Rok Zalar and informatics expert Luka Birsa. Founders noticed a business potential in the niche of developing software and hardware tailored for digital e-paper displays. Visionect created an innovative platform which allows to run wireless, interactive, digital e-paper displays.

The main advantage of the Visionect platform is the ability to adapt to a variety of applications and solutions within various locations. In comparison to the currently most popular LCD, LED and TFT screens used in digital signage solutions, e-paper displays ensure better content readability even in direct sunlight and generate much higher energy savings. Built-in battery lasts up to 12 months and, with added solar panels, the displays are practically self-sufficient. Data transfer is via Wi-Fi or 3G, so you can change the displays content from any location.

Retail labels

Centrally managed dynamic information combined with easy-to-read e-paper module allows to display a real-time information on products, prices and promotions. Electronic paper labels are used as smart shelf labels in retail stores, high-end fashion stores, furniture stores, car showrooms and many more. The labels are centrally managed and monitored by the Visionect Software Suite.

Digital information board

E-paper is the future in developing intelligent cities. As an external information platform, it allows efficient transmission of information, with the ability to change the content in one or many points simultaneously. User can control displays from one location. Thanks to built-in solar panels, the created information points are self-sufficient. Moreover, mobile connectivity allows to change and update data such as bus arrival time and cultural events program.

Digital bus stops

Digital bus stops provide up-to-date information on timetables, detours, and traffic. Providing real-time information increases passenger comfort and enables transport agencies to control the demand and smoothness of traffic. Thanks to built-in solar panels and low power demand, they do not require external power supply.

Traffic signs

Electronic paper traffic signs are ahead of currently used electronic signs, when it comes to readability and energy consumption. Thanks to the use of solar power they can be easily applied in places where there is no power grid. Such solutions reduce the cost of temporary and permanent signs. The displayed content is updated by the module's connection to the mobile network. This provides the opportunity to change information from any place, thus allowing the user to always display the most up-to-date content. The first system of this type was implemented in Sydney.

Electronic museum labels

Electronic museum labels represent an excellent combination of modules and Visionect Software Suite that are designed to complement perfectly the museum infrastructure. Thin and lightweight display perfectly integrated with the gallery space, offers significant savings on paper label printing while maintaining excellent readability. Low energy consumption generates additional savings. The module has a built-in battery that allows up to several months of work. The speed and ease of changing the displayed content is ensured by installed Wi-Fi module. The possibility of changing the content wireless and mounted battery guarantee that there is no need to use external wiring.

JOAN

JOAN system displays current room booking schedule using an integrated touch panel that allows you to enter quickly a new appointment. The system enables integration with current infrastructure: Google Suite, the Office365 calendar, and others. The whole module is wireless and can be mounted on any type of surface, even on glass. JOAN has been awarded the Red Dot Design Award and the CES Innovation Award for ecological solutions.
